Strolling along King George’s Drive—named after the British king’s visit—we walk parallel to the Indian Ocean, passing by fishermen’s activity zones and traditional dry fish processing centers. Once we’ve taken in the strong aromas, we visit the bustling Lellama fish market and pass the city prison, located near the old Dutch fort site. At Kothalawala Bridge, enjoy a picturesque view of the fishing boats before heading to St. Mary’s Cathedral, a key landmark in Negombo.
