Detailed Itinerary

Ayubowan !! Welcome to Sri Lanka. You will met by representatives of Real Lanka Holidays at the airport and from there you will be transferred to the lodge that you are staying in Kithulgala. Drive time will be around two hours.

After short break we will start our first activity “canyoning”.  The trip begins with a short jungle hike up to the canyons through rain forest and there are few “water slides” along the way. During this adventure you’ll face several thrilling challenges but its really fun.

After this activity you will transfer back to  lodge.

After breakfast we will explore the caves in Belilena to get a first hand cave hunt experience. This cave is located up a steep path on a hillside close to the town of Kithulgala, where from a nearby ledge, you may look down over a breathtaking vista of rubber plantation, jungle vegetation and hills. Belilena Cave’s damp and dark depths are famed for the thousands of bats which have taken up residence in the cave’s cool interior, and they flit about seemingly haphazardly, in the discomforting beam of your torchlight. This excursion will take around three hours.

After the activity we will be back at the lodge for lunch and in the evening we will do white water rafting with kayaks.

Kithulgala is the best place in Sri lanka for white water rafting. In this tour we do advance rafting in the up side of the Kelani river in upper Sithawaka area. Class 3 and 4 rapids guarantees to get the adrenaline rushing. Its a perfect kayaking experience.

Today we will leave Kithulgala. After the breakfast we will drive two hours to a small city Nallathanniya bottom of the fourth highest mountain in Sri lanka. This mountain is famous and special for Buddhists. Buddhism is the country’s largest religion group and believers think mountain has buddha’s footprint. We will start the climb of the mountain in the early morning hours to see the sunrise over the other mountains and valleys. Hiking path is moderate and will take around three hours to reach peak.

After we get down we stay rest of hours in the hotel and we will arrange BBQ Night for you.

Adams Peak (Sri Pada):   Adam’s peak is 2243 m high is a tall conical mountain located in central Sri Lanka. The climb consists of rising stairs, and you have to climb 5,000 of them in order to reach the peak. The top of the mountain has a huge a “footprint” like hollow. The Buddhist residents say it’s the footprint of Buddha’s left foot. The Hindus claimed that the footprint belonged to Lord Shiva. The Muslims and the Christians believed that it was Adam’s first step after being kicked out of the Garden of Eden by God. Declared UNESCO World Heritage Site since its home to an extraordinary range of flora and fauna, including several endangered species such as the western-purple-faced langur, and the Sri Lankan leopard.

In the morning you will transfer to nearby train station to catch the train to Ohiya. Door less train with locals will give you nice experience for lifetime. You will be pick up by your guide at Ohiya station. We will park our vehicle near the station and then we hike through the rail track up to the mountains.
